Design Highlights

A closer look at the choices that shape this West Palm Beach home remodel.

The Color Story

Picking one color family and letting it run through the house is one of the simplest ways to make a remodel feel planned. Here, blue does the heavy lifting, but each room plays it differently.

Kitchen: navy, crisp and confident

Saturated navy cabinets frame the room, a white island breaks it up, and brass adds a little shine.

Bathroom: blue-gray, soft and layered

Tile with the movement of natural stone sets a cooler mood, and warm wood keeps it from feeling cold.

The Kitchen, Pin by Pin

Start with the big picture. This is the full kitchen from the end of the island, with the key features numbered.

An island that reads like sculpture

Instead of stopping at the edge, the island's quartz top folds over and drops straight to the floor on each end. That waterfall edge turns a work surface into the centerpiece of the room. Thin, dark veins run through the white, and they continue down the sides, so the slab looks like one continuous piece.

Two tones, one kitchen

The perimeter cabinets are navy. The island is white. Both share the same shaker door and the same long brass bar pulls, so the contrast feels intentional, not mismatched. On the working side of the island, a full bank of drawers gives deep storage for pots, pans and everyday dishes.

FAQs

West Palm Beach Home Remodel FAQs

Will navy cabinets make my kitchen feel dark?

Not if you balance them. In this kitchen, a white island, white counters, a light backsplash and under-cabinet LEDs keep the room bright. Dark cabinets work best when at least one large surface in the room stays light.

Mostly size and placement. Measure the opening, the door swing and the clearance to the cabinet above so it fits the run cleanly. For the connected features, the fridge will also need a good Wi-Fi signal in the kitchen.

It can make a big difference. A backlit mirror spreads soft, even light at face level, which helps with grooming and makes a compact room feel brighter. The oval mirror here also has touch buttons right on the glass.

Most people find them simple. On a typical push-button system, each button turns one outlet on or off and a separate lever sets the temperature. Valves vary by brand, so we walk you through the options before anything is ordered.

It can be. Glass block lets daylight in while blurring the view, and it handles water better than a standard window. Here it sits right above the long niche, so it adds light without giving up privacy.

Yes. Depending on the address, permits in the 33406 area go through the City of West Palm Beach or Palm Beach County. MIA is a licensed general contractor (CGC1535875) and plumbing contractor (CFC1434602), and we take care of the filings and inspections.
