Design Highlights

A closer look at the choices that shape this Miami Springs bathroom remodel.

The Shower: Clean Lines in Matte Black

The shower walls are large white tiles with bold gray veining, set in big panels so there are very few grout lines. Against all that white, every fixture is matte black, which gives the shower a crisp, graphic look.

A Floor Made of Scales

The shower floor is a fan-shaped marble mosaic, sometimes called fish-scale or scallop tile. Each piece is a soft arc in shades of white and gray, and together they make a rippling pattern that looks almost like water. It's softer and more playful than a grid of squares, and the small pieces follow the slope of the floor toward the drain.

Safety That Doesn't Look Clinical

Grab bars often get left out because people think they'll make a bathroom look like a hospital. This project shows the opposite. Finished in the same matte black as the shower fixtures, they blend right into the design.

The Vanity: Warm Wood Meets Black

Outside the shower, the warmth comes from the vanity. Its doors are fluted, with fine vertical grooves in a light oak finish, and they're paired with matte black knobs. A white top with an integrated sink and a matte black single-handle faucet keep the look simple.

FAQs

Miami Springs Bathroom Remodel FAQs

Can grab bars actually look good?

Yes. Grab bars now come in the same finishes as faucets and shower heads, like matte black, brushed nickel or brass. Matching them to the rest of the hardware makes them read as part of the design instead of an add-on.

They need to be anchored securely, which usually means planning blocking or approved anchors behind the tile before the walls are finished. That's why it's easiest to add them during a remodel rather than after.

It's a mosaic made of fan-shaped pieces that overlap visually like scales. It comes in marble, ceramic and glass, and works well on shower floors, niches and accent walls.

Matte black hides fingerprints well, but hard-water spots can show. A quick wipe with a soft cloth after use and a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner keep the finish looking even.

In a small bathroom, it can replace a separate vanity light, a mirror and a wall cabinet in one piece. You get bright, even light at face level plus hidden storage, which keeps the counter clear.

We do. Projects that change plumbing, electrical or walls generally go through the City of Miami Springs building department. With our general contractor (CGC1535875) and plumbing contractor (CFC1434602) licenses, we prepare the applications and schedule the inspections.
